I would like to dedicate this to a brother who
was so dear to me and the loss of him that was and continues to be
such a painful one. He remains one of the most wonderful
individuals I have ever known.....for his kindness, caring heart and
wonderful sense of humor. Patrick you are missed very deeply.

Pat's Sister

Patrick was an obedient and loving son who always put others ahead of himself.
He died doing what he loved to do, serving others. My heart will never be the same.
I am adding a poem my daughter, Kim, wrote after Patrick's death.
It really says it all for his brothers and sisters:
Patrick Joseph Riley
P was for the patient and polite manner you had,
A was for the abundance of cheer you provided to the sad
T was for the time you gave so freely of yourself,
R was for the respect you always showed everyone else
I was for the incredible concern you had for all,
C was for the caring heart that made you stand so tall
K was for the Kindness that blessed you everyday
J was for the joy you gave and the jokes you played in your fun and loving way.
O was for the outstanding brother you always were to me
S was for the sensitive part of you, and that sly grin I loved to see.
E was for the exceptional person you were and enthusiasm you showed in everything you did
P was for the play-time missed when you were just a kid
H was for the honesty possessed by you within,
R was for Riley, the name we all shared, and for the Rest you have
truly earned
I is for the incredible brother you were to me,
L is for the loneliness now, without you here to see
E is for the extra-effort you no longer must use to get a breath of air
Y is for the years we were blessed with your presence here, though soon we'll be together again...I miss you brother
dear.

I remember how Pat was so caring about others and he
was so sick as a young boy, but he always spoke of being a doctor as a young boy. Pat
always wanted to help others, because he had so much help staying alive all of his growing
up years, due to asthma. We were quite shocked to here that he was going to be a
cop-----but he was a good cop and was well recognized for his service to the county of
Maricopa as a Sheriff's Deputy. He was the best brother I could have hoped to have
had as "My Twin".

I found this web site by
accident. I am Laurie's Sister Deb & Pat was one of the
most wonderful men that I knew. His marriage to my sister was
a marriage of complete love & adoration. I miss Pat a lot
& think of him often, he will always be my brother. Some
day we will see each other again up in heaven where there is no
sadness.
Deb Davis
Pat's Sister-in-Law

It's always a tragedy to lose a law
enforcement officer, especially in the line of duty.
When Pat died, this office suffered a huge
loss. He was a great deputy and a great friend to many people here
at the Sheriff's Office.
More importantly, Pat was a good
husband.
His picture still adorns the wall at District
1 where he was last assigned and his memory lives on in the hearts
and minds of his colleagues and his family.
