Karen Lynn Hartrick Shumake, 49, of Chandler, AZ passed away August 14, 2005 after a brief struggle with cancer. Karen was born in Kenmore, New York on September 26, 1955 and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona with her family in 1968 and graduated from Coronado High School in 1973. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew her. Karen is survived by her husband Donald Shumake, Jr., parents Alan and Linda Hartrick, and Hilda and Bob Rose, sister Gail Garrett (Mark), brothers Robert (Tamara), Jim (Jacque) and David Hartrick (Anissa), 12 nieces, 3 nephews, 3 stepsisters, 2 stepbrothers and many other family and friends. A Celebration of Karen's life will be held on Saturday August 20, 2005 at 3:00 pm at Desert Cross Lutheran Church Community Center, 8600 S. McClintock, Tempe, AZ with a visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karen's name to the Arizona Humane Society or Hospice of the Valley
