I have very fond memories
of my AP Philosophy class with Mr. Barreclough. He asked
thought provoking questions, and took the time to really hear your
answer. He afforded all of his students respect, which set him
apart from some other teachers who couldn't see beyond the
packaging. He helped shape my future, for which I will always
be grateful.
Rest in peace, Mr.
Barreclough.

I had Mr. Barreclough for
a government class teacher at Coronado High School from 1968-1969.
Excellent teacher with a good sense of humor! He told our class his
nickname was "Duffy." After that the students started calling
his exams "Duffy's Toughies." Even Mr. Barreclough smiled
about the name given to his exams. More teachers of Mr.
Barreclough's caliber are needed in our school systems.

I have fond memories of
Mr. B but did not have him as a teacher at Coronado. I knew
him at CHS and always thought he was a nice guy but a few years
later I had the opportunity to play in a jazz band with him.
He played a tuba -- jazz tuba -- on the bass trombone part. I
played bari sax so I sat right in front of him. During
rehearsals he was very mellow and always nice. I got to know
him as a person rather than as a teacher -- a good musician with a
big heart.
